... on a small, infilled lot, squeezed between existing buildings, on a busy street, with no parking. This handsome building was designed by the talented architects at The Narrow Gate, in partnership with NOAH (Neighborhood of Affordable Housing), and it became the new home of five lucky families in East Boston. .
It was our first experience with helical piles -- a way to anchor a foundation and transfer a building's load to firmer ground deep beneath the earth's surface.
Getting the machinery down the narrow streets of East Boston was not an easy task!
